Drug testing in the United States began in the late 1980s. Since that time the rapid drug test has become a fast and affordable method of employee drug screening. We have people ask; "how many drugs should I test for? This could depend on several things: Suspicion, prevalent drug use in your area, grown drugs in your area. Sometimes there is no way of knowing what a person is using. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration or SAMHSA and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the beginning, required that companies test for the presence of certain drugs. These test classes were established decades ago, and included 5 (five) specific drug groups.
- Cannabinoids (marijuana, hashish)
- Cocaine (cocaine, benzoylecognine, cocaethylene)
- Amphetamines (amphetamine, methamphetamine)
- Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
- Phencyclidine (PCP)
Today, a 5 (Five) Panel Drug Test is still the most used and popular test method and now there are more drug configurations to chose from. Example: (COC THC OPI AMP mAMP), (COC THC OPI AMP PCP), (COC THC OPI mAMP PCP). Available 5 Panel Test Kits: 5 Panel Dip Card, 5 Panel Cassette (pipette) or a 5 Panel Cup. 5 panel drug test kits come in both urine and oral fluid. Any Rapid 5 Panel Drug Test should be confirmed by a SAMHSA approved laboratory. There are some states that will not allow rapid drug tests. Check your state laws for specific guidelines.
